Winery Description

Geographical situation
Located on the Massif des Corbières and nestled between the citadels of the Cathar country in Languedoc, the cellar of the Vignerons de Cascastel is a cooperative that cultivates more than 1,000ha of vines at the foothills of the Corbières Mountains on the steep valleys, joining the small wine-producing villages of Cascastel, Tucson and Villeneuve.

The vineyard
The grand vineyard is made up of several parcels where the majority is in an AOC area in the Corbières region also known as Haut Fitou.
The vines are under constant care of the 200 winemakers that see over this large cooperative.
The grape-picking is always done by hand in their new, ultra-modern cellars and the grapes are handled according to the most modern methods, while still respecting tradition.
The average production is 30,000 hL per year of which 90 % is designated AOC

Varietal type
The traditional varietals cultivated here are Grenache Noir, Carignan and Syrah for the reds and Grenache Gris, Grenache Blanc and Macabeu for the whites.
Typically full of charm Muscats of Alexandria are primarily used in Muscat dessert wines.
The best of these cuvées are aged in a climate-controlled aging storeroom with more than 400 oak casks.
